We have some wonderful news to share: we are now officially a registered charity! 

This is an important milestone for our organization and for the people we serve. Achieving charitable status opens the door to new funding opportunities and means that, moving forward, we can build a stronger and more sustainable future for our Nav-CARE program.

But right now, we need your help to get there.

Our Nav-CARE program is facing a funding gap, and we need to raise enough to carry us through to 2027.

Until we received charitable status, we were restricted in the grants and funding opportunities we could apply for. Now that we are a registered charity, we are able to apply for a number of grants that will provide the longer-term funding we need. The challenge is that several of the larger grants we have applied for will not be decided until early 2027.

That leaves us with an important gap to bridge.

A gift today will help us continue providing Nav-CARE services without cutting back while we wait for those funding decisions.

Nav-CARE supports local adults who are experiencing declining health, increased frailty, or social isolation. Our volunteers provide regular check-ins, compassionate companionship, grief support, and practical help—while helping people navigate the medical, social, and community resources available to them.

These are people who might otherwise be struggling alone.

Today, our program is supporting 190 active clients with the help of 99 volunteers across six communities. Demand continues to grow, with waiting lists in almost every area we serve.

We have done everything we can to stretch our existing resources, including reducing our expenditures by $100,000 this year compared with last year. We have also applied for the grants we need to sustain the program into the future.

Now we need our community to help us bridge the gap.
