Erin Thompson, BA

Fund Development

Erin’s undergraduate degree in Political Science and International Relations from Carleton University lends itself well to navigating complex situations and having difficult conversations. Combined with her personal experience of caring for her mother up to and including end-of-life, Erin has a good understanding of the needs of those most vulnerable in the community.  Erin was drawn to Nav-CARE’s emphasis on living well at every stage of life, and believes that we as a community can play an important role in caring for each other in a manner that benefits everyone. She began the program in the Nelson area and decided that she’d like to see the service in the whole area so she applied for funding to support the expansion to the whole of the West Kootenays. Over the next few years Erin stewarded the program and now focuses on funding the program so that we can continue to serve and also acting as the Nelson Community Connector. In her spare time she loves playing sports and cooking.
