Kirsten Faris
Salmo Coordinator
Kirsten’s passion for palliative care began at a young age when she assisted her mother with end-of-life care, sparking her dedication to helping others. For the past three years, Kirsten has worked as a Community Health Care Aide, supporting individuals in maintaining their independence and staying in their homes as long as possible. She also serves as a Nursing Assistant at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, where her compassionate approach to patient care makes a lasting impact.
In addition to her healthcare work, Kirsten is a former volunteer firefighter with the Salmo Fire Department, where she was part of a team that responded to emergencies and supported her community in times of need. Growing up in Salmo, she witnessed firsthand the strength of community and the importance of coming together when it matters most.
Kirsten is drawn to Nav-Care because she believes in the program’s potential to positively impact her community and improve the lives of those who need it most.
Outside of work, Kirsten enjoys spending her summers at Christina Lake, walking her dog, and staying active with curling and slow-pitch. Her deep sense of community and commitment to service continues to guide her in both her personal and professional life.
